D – Die“Give a thousand chances to your enemy to become your friend, But don't give a single chance to your friend to become your enemy.” ~Someone Smart
WELLL...let me just say, that this is an AWESOME quote. As a Christian, I know this is true. The Bible commands us to love our enemies. UGGG, i know. That is, like, the hardest thing to ever do!!! but hey, Jesus did it then so can i.
Even if you aren’t a Christian, it still has great meaning. Friends are the most special thing in the world. They should NEVER be taken for granted. You don’t have to have friends. They’re just life’s blessing to you.
Anywayz, if you don’t have friends (poor you!!), guess what? now you do!!! I’ll be your friend! :) Follow my blog and welcome to the world of friendship!
it isn't world friends week. well, at least not exclusively. if you were in English honors you would know that it is banned books week. but i guess they could be the same week.
ReplyDeletethanks for ruining my point...
ReplyDelete"To be honest with you, I don't have the words to make you feel better, but I do have the arms to give you a hug, ears to listen to whatever you want to talk about, and I have a heart; a heart that's aching to see you smile again."
ReplyDeleteI love that quote. <3
ReplyDeleteHi jojo
glad you finally made an actual account, Taquito.
ReplyDeleteyah...
ReplyDeletei didn't...hee hee...u were wrong
ReplyDeleteso much for always being rite, richard
ReplyDeleteso you didnt make the account?
ReplyDeletewell, that is irrelevant. regardless of who made it, it was made specifically for you. and you are using it. and i am glad you are using an actual account. this account was either made by you for you, or was made by another for you. so that justifies my entire comment.
sure.....i totally get that
ReplyDeletejojo can u explain?...i have to use different methods to post comments. sometimes i can't post at all...mainly i use someone else's blog to post in my name (I think)...u might be partially right, i might as well say that since you will try to come up with a "logical" excuse
ReplyDeletetaquito is my sister and i let her use a branch of my account as her own.
ReplyDeletethat makes sense, i guess.
ReplyDeleteim glad you have enough brains to make a logical guess
ReplyDeletei have more brains than you give me credit for. of course, you usually don't give me credit for having any brains, so that proves little.
ReplyDeleteyes yes i've been told this many times. but i too have more brains than u give me credit for. they may not be smart brains, but i have got some real writing brains
ReplyDeletescorrie if i ever hurt u by not giving u credit for ur brains
Taquito-
ReplyDeleteLook, we all have brains...just not intelligent ones
with the exception of me. i have a very intelligent brain.
ReplyDeleteexcuse me??? um...hello?? i am a straight A student!!! i am intelligent too...hump on a camel!!!
ReplyDeletebut your straight "A"s are different than mine. examples: your chem regulars versus my chem honors. also your math versus my advanced math honors.
ReplyDeletehmph...still, at least i have straight 'A's...but my history honors is the same as ur history honors!
ReplyDeletei know, that is why i didn't say it WAS different. but since that does not give an extra grade point, one could say that their history regulars is the same as our history honors.
ReplyDeletebut its not. they have less work!!!
ReplyDeleteTaquito-
ReplyDeleteIntelligence is actually defined as the ability to be shrewd
Exact from merriam webster:
the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations : reason; also : the skilled use of reason (2) : the ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one's environment or to think abstractly as measured by objective criteria (as tests) b Christian Science : the basic eternal quality of divine Mind c : mental acuteness : shrewdness
soooo, richard is intelligent, but not smart...hmmm...
ReplyDeletehere is the definition for smart:
ReplyDeletequick or prompt in action, as persons.
having or showing quick intelligence or ready mental capability: a smart student.
shrewd or sharp, as a person in dealing with others or as in business dealings: a smart businessman.
clever, witty, or readily effective, as a speaker, speech, rejoinder, etc.
dashingly or impressively neat or trim in appearance, as persons, dress, etc.
so by this and Taquito's post, i am both intelligent and smart.
Taquito
ReplyDeleteu r stubborn
wut u got to say to that?
i must be stubborn if the truth is being attacked.
ReplyDeleteTaquito
ReplyDeletei wouldn't attack the "truth" unless it wasnt the truth
but it is
ReplyDeleteokay oaky, SMarTiE! do u like smarties? i do :)-fave candy
ReplyDeletesorry that sounded bad, i definitely meant the candy-lol
i bet he likes the other kind too....
ReplyDeletedo you mean that i have an emotional attraction to people with above average intellects? Because that seems pretty much on the nose. If you aren't smart, you've got to be pretty...lucky. and you thought i was going to say something shallow, didn't you?
ReplyDeletewell....not shallow. i was more expecting defense mode...but i expected wrong
ReplyDeletei'll ask here then...what am i, smart or lucky?
ReplyDeletewell...drum roll please...
ReplyDelete*drum roll*
ReplyDeletei didn't expect you to get it that fast.
ReplyDeleteTo put it in Machiavellian words, you either gained "power" by fortune or ability. In your case, it was mostly fortune, though as Machiavelli said, you needed to have ability to keep that power.
um...for my small brain, can you explain that please? unless u don't want to, cuz then i wont force u
ReplyDeleteand how do i keep that power if you still mite want another option?
ReplyDeleteone can gain power by fortune, but it takes ability to keep it. see chapter 7 of The Prince for this. An example given is Duke Valentino. He gained power by fortune, but kept it because of his ability. Sadly, bad fortune took away what good fortune as well as ability granted.
ReplyDeletedid u just gave away the ending of "prince"?
ReplyDeleteno he didnt. the book doesnt have an ending.
ReplyDeletewhats the point of ability or fortune or power if it gets me no where??
having and using are different.
ReplyDeleteand yes, The Prince does have an ending. The ending is a plea for Italians to unite and rid Italy of foreigners. That is why he added the poem at the end. To encourage those who wanted, like him, to have a united Italy.
i said neither having or using. all i want to know is the point of fortune, in my case, if it has gotten me practically no where. is it that i havent made a move?
ReplyDeletefortune is opportunity. Ability is realizing it and taking action.
ReplyDeleteu have very bad fortune then dude
ReplyDeletethose with great ability need little of fortune. When even a small chance comes, they can take advantage of it.
ReplyDeleteokay. u definitely have some ability
ReplyDeleteokay, so now u gave away the ending(not that i really care)
ReplyDeleteand yes jojo i agree, he has the fortune and ability to give away stories' endings
of course. because that was completely what we meant with absolutely no subtext.
ReplyDeleteexactly. read this subtext richard. listen to what people actually say! sometimes there is no subtext!! they'll tell it to you straight because they think you deserve to know whats true instead of LEADING SOMEONE ON!!!
ReplyDeleteone can not lead unless others follow.
ReplyDeleteyah well maybe they should turn around and tell them where they're headed
ReplyDeletewhat if the leader doesn't know where said leader is going? Maybe aforementioned leader is wandering aimlessly throughout the wide world trying to find something...or just wants to see the world as that leader passes by.
ReplyDeletethen i guess the follower could have given help if asked instead of being ignored
ReplyDeletethe leader might not need help.
ReplyDeleteand look where that got this leader
ReplyDeleteassuming you haven't violated your own rules (read this subtext richard...there is no subtext!!), I don't know what you mean. Since there is absolutely no subtext, again per your own rules, your message makes no sense. Since we are talking about an unspecified, generic leader, you can't appeal to events from this unspecified, generic leader. Because we don't know anything about this leader. Hence, unspecified, generic leader. That is the only way to prevent all theoretical subtext, per, as i previously stated; your own request.
ReplyDeleteahh, you missed some words. I said SOMETIMES there is no subtext. In this case there was.
ReplyDeletei felt like you lead me on to where there was a dead end. I felt trapped and having no room to move. whatever happened the morning of the gender blender chapel, changed both of us somehow. that was kind of our ending point. if im wrong tell me. i want to figure this out.
you are in fact wrong. well, i can't say if it changed you, but it definitely did not change me. my mind was made up before, and i have not changed it since.
ReplyDeleteas to me leading you on...well, you could say that to a point, i guess. that is all i will comment to that.
Super Eli-
ReplyDeleteOh my really guys!!! You make this publicly!!! I don't really think that everyone wants to hear all about Machiavelli or love or that type of thing except if it is about certain people that I care about!! Any ways good conv!!! A ton to comment on!!!
yes, the chapel did change me. it made me see that communication is the best thing for any friendship. and other things too, but I don’t need to tell you everything that happens in my life, now do i?
ReplyDeletebut can you tell me what went wrong only so i can learn from my mistakes?
ELLA!! you finally commented!!! VICTORY lol. this isnt THAT public. "except if it is about certain people that I care about!!" selfish much?
ReplyDeleteSuper Eli-
